DMBC Board Meeting – August 20, 2007

The meeting was called to order by President John Sterling at 5:00 P. M.

The following board members were present:

Our Meeting minutes are now being reviewed and then posted on our website.

The Minutes were accepted as presented.

TREASURER’S REPORT – Bruce gave the Treasurer’s report as posted on our web site.

The Treasurer’s report was accepted as presented.

DIRECTOR”S REPORT

June stated that our special games have been enormously popular.  A two session GNT event will be held on Saturday October 27^th.  On Monday November 12^th we will have our election of new board members and it will be a membership game which awards extra points.  Our Xmas party will be on Thursday December 13. 

  June praised all the Directors for all their efforts and extra time they are devoting to the club.

  June asked John for his help in getting out the newsletter for the first of the month as she will not be here.

  June said we need to find out about the gifts for children at Christmas time so that we could start preparing for this event.  She also requested a new stapler.

OLD BUSINESS

Bob Renuart sent an Email to Spike and Linda that the Board has approved the use of the Club for their lessons along with the stated provisions.

Tournament Report – Pat Heading said the following committees have been chaired and need helpers:

Partnerships – Peg Lupo

Food – Judy McCall

Greeters – Betty King

Clean Up – Pat Heading

Pat said supplies have been received for the event.  Also needed to know who had credit cards for Sam’s Club.  They are Mary Lockwald and Bob Aumiller.   The cleaning lady has been notified about the extra cleaning times.  The Playing fees will be $10.00 per session.  Any lunch served would be an extra $2.00.  The team game on Sunday will be $22.00 per person including lunch.  Perhaps a Guest Speaker may be available to give a lecture.

The ACBL has been contacted about our January Tournament and has been confirmed.

NEW BUSINESS

John stated that our annual election of Officers will be held on November 12^th.  Three members will be leaving the Board.  They are Al Land, Lee Elton and Chet Masztak.

The Nominating Committee will be appointed by the President.

Shirley Townley is unable to work on the Sunshine Committee at this time.  Please bring to John’s attention any cards that need to be sent to members.

Pat and Vivian Heading will be contacted about the Christmas gifts for the children of the Head Start Program.

June will be gone for a month.  A temporary Head Director will be assigned during her absence.

The Next Meeting will be Monday, September 24, 2007.
