DMBC Board Meeting, October 15, 2007

The Meeting was called to order by President John Sterling at 5:00 P.M.

The following Board Members were in attendance:

John Sterling     Frank Fisher     Chet Masztak               Lee Elton                      Barbara King

Head Director – June Byrne

The financial report was read and accepted.

The Minutes were approved as had been presented.

June stated that the Wednesday game has been changed to 0 to 149 points.  The Monday afternoon game has also been changed to Non Life Master.

June will continue to give lessons on Mondays but Pat Heading will direct the games.

Betty, Shannon, Spike and June will give free lessons at our Regional in November.  June was given permission to distribute some free plays at the Regional games.

Saturday’s game has been sanctioned for the two session event.  June has a lot of membership and other special games planned for the rest of the quarter.

June will prepare another News Letter regarding our upcoming election of Board Members.  She has also suggested that perhaps our Web Site should be reviewed and edited from time to time.

Some previously mentioned kitchen supplies still need to be purchased.

OLD BUSINESS

Research has indicated that the carpet was last cleaned two years ago and the terrazzo floor maintained three years ago.  John was unable to reach the previous carpet cleaner.  It was then decided that the carpet be given a

very special vacuuming during the Regional with all the tables and chairs being moved off the carpet.

Frank Fisher regarding the replacement of tables and chairs brought up the following for discussion:

1. He did not think that any major changes would increase revenues to the club.
2. If comfort and appearance are a necessity, he thinks we are better than most clubs.
3. There are chairs stacked in the closet that should be discarded.
4. Rickety tables and bad table tops equal about five.  Bob Renuart said he could change out the bad table tops.

June said we should have about 44 to 45 useable tables for our special games.  It was decided to purchase five to ten new tables and get more prices on stackable chairs.

NEW BUSINESS

Our Web Site needs to and should promote our special games.
