Hello, All,

Hope you didn't have too scary of a Halloween and have a little candy left.

Reminder--The Northeast Florida Regional starts tomorrow. It will be at the Plaza Resort on North Atlantic Avenue in Daytona Beach and will run through next Sunday.

Our club is always closed during this Regional, so it is a good opportunity for some of our newer players to enjoy tournament experience. Regionals always have games for all levels. You can see the full schedule by going to our website, www.daytonabridge.org, and clicking on the link.

It's the time of year for election of our Board members. The election will be Monday, November 13. If you can't be at the club that date, you can vote early--just ask the Director for a ballot.

The election will be followed by the Annual Meeting Monday, the 20th. The new Board of Directors will be introduced and President Al Land will give a brief 'state-of-the-club' update.

Game results are put on the Internet immediately after each game. We have changed providers. Bill McManus, our computer guru, has designed his own program, and it is very user-friendly. Again, go to our club website, www.daytonabridge.org,, and you'll find the 'Game Results' link on the front page.

The new club manager at Palm Coast is Jane Davidson, 386-445-5921. She is starting a Sunday evening game and an individual game. Call her for details and directions.

Jerry Helms, one of the most entertaining of bridge lecturers, is coming to Jacksonville February 7 and 8, 2007. Jerry gave a mini-presentation at our September Sectional, and he was enthusiastically appreciated. A motel has offered special rates. Annabelle Hudman, 904-388-4208, is handling arrangements and has sent us registration forms (on supply table). His program will benefit players of all levels. Annabelle wrote that Jerry's seminars always sell out early, so don't procrastinate.

Some of our players fared well at the Naples Regional in October--Gail Rust, Don Metler, Louis Jones, Misuzu McManus, Lynn Brown, Harriet Eaton and John Morris. Good for all of you, and any others I may have missed.

Have a good game.

Max Bayard
